ERS Training day dates and schedules

This section provides a brief overview of the Mandatory and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training sessions.

The dates, location and content of planned training sessions will be updated monthly.

Please forward all training enquires to Sinnead McCluskey.

Mandatory Training Sessions

The mandatory training workbook is available for all contractors from the Hereford office, or online in the mandatory training section of the ERSNET. This has been developed in small sections so it can be done in sessions that are meant to last around 30 minutes. Once a section has been read there is a test located on the ERSNET to verify knowledge. Once all the tests have been taken and passed it will be recorded on your personnel file held at Huddersfield.

We run mandatory training / assessment days in specific places around the country that ensure we can reach all our contractors. The places we currently run training days include: Hereford, Huddersfield, Birmingham City University and from close to our operational bases around the country.

The dates and locations of our training events are available on the training section of the ERS website.

These training sessions will ensure ERS contractors are trained to current clinical guidelines.

Before workers attend a mandatory training event they will be sent a pre reading list by the training department, this is essential reading to keep the sessions running smoothly.

The Mandatory training sessions are timetabled to run for one day and are open to all ERS clinicians. Each scheduled training day consists of one session. If any further training is deemed to be necessary following assessment on the day, this will be discussed on an individual basis and the ERS appraisal form will be used to direct any further action required.

The Mandatory Training Session syllabus:

·      Basic Life Support (BLS)

·      Adult Life Support (ALS)

·      Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

·      Patient Report form guidance

·      Management of difficult situations

Once you have completed the Mandatory training practical session and passed all the tests, and completed the Mandatory training workbook exam, a certificate will be issued for your CPD folder, the training days will offer contractors the opportunity to seek guidance and training in any area they feel they require clarification, these will be better covered and timetabled if the training team are made aware prior to the event of issues you would like to cover.

There is no charge for the Mandatory training sessions.

To book a place please contact taronwilliamson@ersgroup.co.uk

The next training sessions will be held on the 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th of April at Birmingham City University.
